According to England Captain Joe Root, England players will not shake hands during the forthcoming Sri Lankan tour due to an outbreak of Coronavirus.

Joe Root's side had gastroenteritis and flu problems on their latest tour of South Africa, and instead the players will greet each other with fist bumps.

Captain Joe Root said, "After the illness that swept through the squad in South Africa, we are well aware of the importance of keeping contact to a minimum and we have been given some really sound and sensible advice from our medical team to help prevent spreading germs and bacteria"

England will contest Saturday's first of two practice games against a Sri Lanka Board Presidents XI in Katunayake in preparation for the two-Test tour which will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship.

England captain said "After the illnesses that swept through the squad in South Africa, we are well aware of the importance of keeping contact to a minimum,"

"We are washing hands regularly and wiping down surfaces using the anti-bacterial wipes and gels we have been given in our immunity packs."

Also, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting has been rescheduled to a month-end according to sources from ACC and BCCI. The March 3 conclave had to be postponed, following fears of Coronavirus, the widely spreading outbreak that has a devastating impact on the world, including sports.

Due to the virus which originated in China, a number of sporting events have been postponed. Since then, about 86,000 people have become infected in more than 50 countries, resulting in even more than 3,000 deaths.

According to media reports, around 730 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the UAE over the last few days, created panic among travelers and locals.

Not only just Root but also the current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and the former Indian Captain, are also concerned about this deadly Coronavirus.
