The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the full schedule of the 7th Men's T20 World Cup 2020 on January 29 at an event in Australia. The tourfnament is scheduled to be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November 2020. The first match of the tournament on October 24 will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground and the final match of the World Cup 2020 will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The tournament is split into two parts, the first round and the Super 12. This will be followed by the knockout phase i.e. the semi finals match and the final match. The top 8 countries will compete in Super 12 phase, according to their world rankings. The rest 8 countries will compete for the final 4 spots in the first round phase. There are two groups of six teams and they play in a round-robin format. The top 2 teams from both the groups join the top 8 countries in Super 12 phase.

The starting of 7th season of the T20 World Cup begins with hosts Australia playing against pakistan. Remember that Australia is yet to win the Men's T20 World Cup, while it has so far won five editions of the ICC Cricket World Cup.

On October 25, after beating England in finals, previous ICC T20 WC 2016 winner West Indies will first play their Super 12 group stage match against New Zealand.
