ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 points table: Undefeated India qualifies for semi-finals

The ICC Women's T20 World Cup is the international championship for women's T20 cricket, which is run by cricket's global governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Cricket sport among women is on the rise. Female sports stars are finally recognized for their skills and given the opportunity to compete for a lot of money on the world's biggest stages. This is as true for cricket as any other sport and the ICC Women's T20 World Cup is one of the biggest events in women's cricket.

Perhaps the most transparent and lively to date is the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup, with more than a couple of titles contenders.

The tournament which was played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground from 21 February 2020 to 8 March 2020 with the final coinciding with international women's day, includes 23 players.

The teams include the top eight ranked side - England, New Zealand, India, Australia, West Indies, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan - as well as qualifiers Bangladesh and Thailand, who are making their World Cup debut.

The 10-team tournament will see teams play each other once in the two groups and therefore the top two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals. A win gives a side two points, a loss none and while a tie (after Super Over in group stages) or no result or abandoned match will gain one point.

As things stand, India is undefeated and leads in Group A with four points from two plays. However, Group B is wide open with four of the five teams being tied on two points each.
